No barn is alike. However, the one constant among them is functionality. Barns were built to accommodate whatever type of need is required – from space for animals and working farm equipment to a more modern living and entertaining space. Regardless of the purpose, maintaining the original stone and wood is paramount. Our team worked with the homeowners to understand their vision, while preserving the feel of the structure and how it fits with the rest of the property and surroundings. We repurposed many of the materials to maintain the original feel of this updated structure.
Strength and Integrity
Most of the early barns – if built on a solid foundation – have survived the test of the weather and time and our job is to complement the nostalgia with a new direction and purpose. This barn’s new structure needed to withhold the weight of boat storage and house the conveniences of a modern workshop, entertaining and woodworking space (1.5-ton winches, welding equipment, heated floors and tools galore). The doors are an amazing addition serving the new and future goals of the barn and the raised seam copper roof is the finishing touch.
